Navy Boats Set to Make a Splash

Corrimal Under 23sMore than 300 surf boat crews from 100 surf lifesaving clubs throughout Australia will converge on Shellharbour Beach on the weekend for the 2016 Team Navy Australian Open.

The Team Navy Australian Surf Rowers League (Team Navy ASRL) Series has been to some of Australia’s best beaches this summer. The Shellharbour event on February 19-21 is the series decider and features the best boat crews from throughout Australia, as well as a small contingent from New Zealand.

There are 26 Illawarra crews taking part from Austinmer in the north to host club Shellharbour, which is contesting the Male Masters 180 division. Divisions of surf boat rowing being contested include Open male and female, Reserve male and female, under-23 male and female, under-19 male and female as well as Masters.

For the first time the event will be streamed live with panel discussions, beach interviews, multiple cameras and expert commentary.
